Kurt Cornfield serves as Director of Student and Emerging Advisors for Kingdom Advisors and teaches in the School of Business at Liberty University. After beginning his career at Morgan Stanley in 1984, he spent 24 years at Merrill Lynch, retiring in 2018. Over the course of his career, he developed a deep passion for holistic financial planning, focusing on incorporating biblical wisdom into his advice. Kurt was instrumental in developing the first CFP® Board-registered program that integrated biblical wisdom into the coursework. Through this program, graduates of Liberty's program are prepared to pursue both the CFP® and CKA® designations. Kurt is passionate about encouraging all student and emerging advisors to pursue biblical wisdom in their advising careers. He and his wife, Nancy, have three children and live in Lynchburg.
Todd Larson, CKA®, CFP®, CRPC®, CFS®, APMA®, CLTC is a Private Wealth Advisor with Larson, Reynolds and Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN. Todd has been in practice with Ameriprise serving clients for the past 25 years. As a Certified Kingdom Advisor®, he focuses on retirement and estate planning strategies, as well as small businesses.
Kelly is Assistant Professor of Finance at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she serves as the coordinator for the university’s Financial Planning Program and department chair for the Jetter School of Business. Kelly’s primary teaching responsibilities are undergraduate and graduate finance courses including many of the courses in the CFP® program. Kelly has a passion for helping young people develop a stewardship perspective and for preparing them to use their careers in the financial services industry as ministry platforms. Kelly has a D.B.A. in Finance from Anderson University, where her research specialty was in subprime mortgage defaults during the 2008 mortgage crisis. Kelly has academic publications in the Journal of Finance and Accountancy and the Journal of International Business Education. Kelly is married to Jon, a chemist who manages a quality control laboratory for Boehringer Ingelheim, the world’s largest privately-held pharmaceutical company. The couple has two children, Landon and Lucy. The family is active in their local church, New Life Church of the Nazarene.
Brian Shepler is the President and COO of Ronald Blue Trust. As president and COO, Brian oversees the day-to-day functions and strategic development of the company, facilitating the executive leadership team and serving on the board of directors. He supports the entire field organization and its divisions by reinforcing best practices leading to field office/division health, including culture, team member development, client service, and growth. Leveraging his background in the investment banking and private equity fields, Brian also serves Ronald Blue Trust clients who own family businesses, providing advice regarding business succession, strategic growth, and corporate capital planning.
