He explains how the Church at Laodicea was an example God used to show the dangers of prosperity and to express what repentance from self-sufficiency looks like. Stowell encourages advisors to “look in the Jesus mirror” and to encourage clients to do the same in order to experience the transforming power of Christ in the midst of a self-sufficient world.
