David Platt President

Dr. David Platt is currently the President of the Southern Baptist Convention's International Mission Board. Prior to joining the IMB, he was Pastor of The Church at Brook Hills near Birmingham, Alabama. He is deeply devoted to Christ and His Word. David’s first love in ministry is disciple-making – the simple, biblical model of teaching God’s Word, mentoring others, and sharing faith. He has traveled extensively to teach the Bible alongside church leaders throughout the United States and around the world. David is the author of Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream and a radio pastor featured on Radical with David Platt. A life-long learner, David has earned two undergraduate and three advanced degrees. David is married to Heather, and they are the parents of four children: Caleb, Joshua, Mara Ruth and Isaiah.
