Friends and Harvard Business School classmates Greg Baumer and John Cortines share their own personal journeys of answering "How much is enough?" When they took a class together called "God and Money" at Harvard, they began to wrestle with the tendencies in their own lives toward materialism and idolatry of money. God used a research project to change their view of money and to call them to set financial finish lines and walk in faith, uniquely living out their decisions.
Greg Baumer is co-author of the books God and Money: How We Discovered True Riches at Harvard Business School and True Riches: What Jesus Really Said About Money and Your Heart. Greg and his co-author John Cortines are passionate about helping individuals and families experience a more wholehearted life in Christ by better understanding the generosity of God and his invitation for us to live generously. Greg also serves on the boards of Generous Giving, BibleProject, and the Nashville chapters of The Signatry and Generous.Life. His day job is focused on investing in and building startups in the healthcare space.
John Cortines oversees the Maclellan Foundation’s investments and strategies to catalyze a global movement of generosity among all believers. While at Harvard Business School, he encountered a radical call from God to reframe his perspective on generosity and ultimately shift his career into the nonprofit sector. He previously served as COO of Generous Giving. John is the coauthor of two books on biblical generosity (God and Money and True Riches: What Jesus Really Said About Money and Your Heart) which together have over 60,000 copies in circulation.
