Nearly all clients are concerned with leaving a positive, lasting legacy, and financial advisors are typically a large part of helping clients frame their legacy. But while leaving a financial legacy is important, the intangible elements of a legacy should not be overlooked. When Jody Nolan’s husband Michael, a financial advisor, died, she realized the need for a written record of a family’s legacy. In this session, advisors learn to coach clients to express their values and sentiments in writing, leaving a tangible record of their values and extending their families’ inheritance in important but non-financial ways.
