Many financial advisors are involved in helping clients prepare end-of-life documents, and in many cases, that work can lead to deeper discussions about life and mortality. To adequately address clients’ concerns, advisors need to understand the importance of those discussions and how to approach those conversations in a way that is beneficial to the client both financially and emotionally. In this session, Joe Mitchiner shares how to explore our clients’ level of concern and knowledge regarding end-of-life documents, how to approach the conversation, and how to help them express themselves fully in various documents as a part of financial planning.
Joe Mitchiner has been engaged in private law practice for over 45 years, concentrating in estate planning for the past 19 years. He has a passion for generosity, stewardship, and serving clients well, including dialogues to move clients along their spiritual journeys. He has been married to Libby for over 50 years and has been blessed with two children and three grandchildren.
